Empire AG Solutions sells pumps, VFDs, valves, flowmeters, and water-system equipment to agricultural and industrial buyers. They needed an online store that could handle a large, technical catalog and the way their customers actually buy: some of it off the shelf, some of it quoted.
The Challenge
One storefront, two ways to buy.
A standard online store couldn't match how the business works. Some products ship straight from stock and can be bought instantly. Others are freight or made-to-spec items that have to be quoted before a price even exists. Most platforms make you choose one model. Empire AG needed both in one storefront, across hundreds of technical products with detailed specs and part numbers.
What We Built
A custom headless Shopify storefront designed around exactly that.
It runs two buying paths at once: in-stock items check out instantly, while freight and made-to-spec products go into a quote request that captures the right details up front (pipe size, footage, delivery location), so the team can quote without the back-and-forth.

Behind it, a custom pipeline loads and organizes hundreds of products with full specs, part numbers, price ranges, and downloadable spec sheets, without hand-entering each one. Customers search and filter by category, voltage, horsepower, and size.

The whole thing is fully responsive, so it works the same on a phone in the field as on a desktop.

The Result
A storefront that matches how a real distributor actually sells.
Instead of forcing the business into a template: hundreds of products live, instant checkout where it makes sense, and a clean quote flow where it doesn't.
